On the road again!

Well, my husband has been back out on the road going on two weeks now, just one more to go and hopefully he'll be home for our second year anniversary. I keep telling myself that eventually I'll get used to him being gone all the time, but right now I don't see that happening. I can't remember if I've shared this in a past blog, but my husband is now an over the road truck driver. He stays out anywhere from three to five weeks and is basically only home for a few days once a month. After a couple of days of him being gone I usually get back into a routine of things. The end of last month had a lot of acivities for me while I made a baby shower cake, a diaper cake ( for a fellow co-worker's baby shower) and in that same weekend we had what they called Old Fashion Sunday at my church. They had a baking contest and I entered my sixteen layer chocolate cake, but several people told me later that it was about nineteen or twenty one layers. Guess I lost count, :) I was shocked when I won first place, I never expected to win I just really like any excuse to bake. I've been meaning to post some more pics, just haven't taken the time.
A little bit of an update for October, we had Vacation Bible School at church last week and I helped a few nights with that. My church has their VBS in the fall because there are so many things going on in the summer that it's better to schedule it when the kids are on their fall break from school. It started at 6:00 PM every night and usually ended about 8:30 PM. I really enjoyed helping out with the kids. I was supposed to have been out on the road with David this month, but things didn't quite work out, so I've been pretty much a home body. We have so many things going on in our lives right now (especially me) and many different decisions to make. For those of you who know me please pray that God will work all things out in His perfect timing. I am not working right now and we are having to get adjusted to one income, I need to find a different job maybe just part-time. David really thinks I should concentrate on doing my cakes, especially seeing as the holidays are just right around the corner. I am just a little unsure because I am trying to find a way to start school in January when the spring semester begins. There is a community college that offers a two-year associates program in sign language interpreting that I've been thinking about doing even before my father-in-law died last year. On a different page in our lives, we really need to be concerned about finding some different type of housing that would better survive the winter. Only God knows how much longer this house is going to last. Also my mother-in-law is trying to get things prepared for her to move back to Oklahoma come January and when that happens it will just be David and I ( or a guess just really me when he's gone out on the road). We have found a few single wide trailers that might be a possibility, but finding the finances to purchase one is the problem. I don't know, all I do know is I'm learning to trust God more and more each day.

Well I guess I better go so I might actually get something accomplished today.

For some reason, I wasn't notified about this post by Google Reader... hmmm. It notified me of the new post with the pictures today so I get two for one.

Congrats on winning the baking contest. I'm not surprised at all!

Looking forward to talking to you sometime soon.
